Gary Faigin has a long and distinguished career as a fine art instructor who combines classical principles of fine art, Western art history, unique demonstrations and visually-comprehensive lectures into his studio teaching practice. In 1991, Faigin and his wife Pamela Belyea, moved to Seattle and together they co-founded the Gage Academy of Art with year-round traditional and contemporary programs in fine art for artists of all ages and levels of ability Faigin serves as Artistic Director and currently teaches a Still Life Atelier, workshops, lectures as well as guides art tours in the U.S. and Europe. Gage reflects Faigin’s philosophy, “Artists are made, not born,”

“Wonderful! So full of terrific, practical guidance. Gary speaks with such fine understanding of the process of learning to draw people.”
